George grew up in Nutley NJ is the youngest brother of Martha Stewart. George spent many years from the age of 12 as Martha's very first apprentice. After graduating from Rutgers College in 1974 he moved to CT and began remodeling homes with a local craftsman. George built most of Martha's Westport projects including her barn and kitchens. He remodeled both the 1825 Turkey Hill Road house and the 1848 Adam's House which is the subject of 'My New Old House' book published in 1992.
