For over 35 years, Patricia Webbink, Ph.D., has specialized in helping Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning and Intersexed individuals and their allies. Dr. Webbink is a licensed psychologist in Bethesda, Maryland and the director of a large private practice throughout Maryland, D.C., and Virginia.
As an accomplished facilitator of wellness workshops and training seminars, Dr. Webbink has designed numerous programs specifically for the LGBTQIA community. Drawing upon her experience conducting national and international workshops, her programs stress cultural sensitivity and self-empowerment. Common goals in such workshops include overcoming loss and hardship, realizing greater potential, becoming more self-confident, and creating optimal health and well-being. Dr. Webbink's services also include guided imagery tapes or CDs that focus on issues within the LGBTQIA community such as Healing the Inner Child, Enhancing Relationships, Healing and Empowerment for Women, Healing Childhood Trauma and more.
Dr. Webbink received her Ph.D in clinical psychology from Duke University and is the author of The Power of the Eyes. She has also appeared on radio (Voice of America in three languages), television (ABC, CBS, The Oprah Winfrey Show & "Good Morning America"), and in print. She is currently writing a book on relationships called The Dance of Love, a book about intimacy styles and relationships (including relationships within the LGBTQIA community).
