As a Chicago therapist, my goal is to create a supportive environment in which my clients can begin to understand their feelings while discovering what barriers that may exist which can limit their full potential. I take an eclectic approach to client wellness and honor the person's work life, family traditions and sexual orientation ... including cultural & spiritual beliefs.
LIFE CHALLENGES I WORK WITH: Many of the clients I assist are working through various life challenges, including anxiety, depression, body image issues or a wounded self-esteem. Others need guidance around relationship difficulties, substance abuse, cyber/sexual addiction and those who may feel co-dependent. I have strong experience with those who are gay, lesbian or bi-sexual as well as those who may be living with health related problems.
Apart from counseling, I am author of the successful book, Confusing Love with Obsession: When Being in Love Means Being in Control. I also contribute to various nationally syndicated magazines, including American Health and Fitness and Cosmo.
MY COUNSELING APPROACH: My approach is warm, non-judgmental, conversational and solution focused. Although I am eclectic in my therapeutic approach, I do focus on the here in now using cognitive therapy.
