Wego is a personalized grocery shopping service company. We want your time to be with your family, and we'll do everything we can to work around your schedule.
The idea of Wego came about as its President, Tim Pierce, came to realize that people just don't like grocery shopping because it's time consuming, it's hard to get around, and it's the last place that people want to be either at the end of the day of working or on the weekend. In fact, Calvin Woodward in a May 2006 Sun-Times article wrote that people hated waiting in line at the grocery store more than waiting in line at the DMV.
Tim also wanted to create a socially progressive company that pays employees well for doing a great job but also to give back to the communities that Wego serves. Part of Wego's mission is that 1/3 of net profits (after taxes) goes back to the communities that Wego serves, and Wego's employees help to decide how to allocate that money.
Wego is different from grocery stores that offer home delivery. Some mark up their prices to partly compensate their delivery costs. If all they do is offer delivery from a warehouse, there's no guarantee that you're getting the freshest meat, dairy, and produce. However, the biggest difference is that if all of your groceries come from one place, how does this give you the lowest overall cost?
Wego representatives live in the communities we serve. As a part of the Wego family, we want to make sure that your family has the best food at the best prices possible. We know where to shop based on price along with quality. Let's face it: no grocery store has the best of everything, and who has the time to go from store to store getting the best food for our families? Let Wego give you back some of your time so that you can spend it with your family whether it's at soccer practice or just to spend some quality time with the significant people in your life.
Plus, have you ever found it difficult to maneuver around a grocery store? Leave it to Wego to help you.
Are you the kind of person that has the best of intentions to shop for the items on your list yet walk out of the store with those items plus things you didn't intend to buy? At Wego, we only get the items you want. If you notice something that you may want based on a previous purchase, we will let you know about it.
Do you use coupons? Let your representative know which items you have coupons for, and we'll make sure to purchase those items. We'll deduct the coupons off your order when it is delivered. It's possible to completely offset the service charge through the use of coupons, so it's like getting your groceries at no additional cost.
Your relationship with Wego begins with your personal Wego representative. The two of you will create a basic grocery list and whenever you want it shipped or you wish to have something added or deleted, you contact your personal Wego representative. Most deliveries are completed within 24 hours of placing the order.
