Phoenix Risin' Bed and Breakfast is a luxurious and rejuvenating B&B experience. We are centrally located downtown in historic Bolton Hill. Our Victorian townhouse was built in 1850 and guests can walk to most of the City's major attractions.
Our inn has 14 ft ceilings, a baby grand piano, and awe inspiring ethnic art. We have 3 guest rooms -- each inspired by the art in the room. There is the Sedona room, which is quiet and peaceful, and is inspired by the Native American art and artifacts in the room. Our second room, La Petite Haiti (the Haitian Room) is like a being on an island paradise in the heart of the City. It is filled with Haitian art and artifacts. The third room, the Serengeti has a wonderful marble fireplace, floor to ceiling bookshelves and is filled with African art, artifacts, and fabrics. Guests may sleep under mosquito netting, if they choose to do so.
Each guest room has a coffee maker, gourmet coffee, flavored cappuccinos, apple ciders, and an array of international and herbal teas and chi. Our rooms also contain bottled water, various sweeteners and creams, an iron and ironing board, telephone/PC jacks. We are in the process of having a router installed for guest use. We also offer copier and fax service to our business guests.
A full breakfast is included in the price of the rooms. We offer gourmet, hearty country, vegetarian and vegan breakfasts. There is no breakfast menu because we talk to our guests before they arrive and determine if they have any dietary restrictions, foods they don't like or eat. We go shopping before they arrive and choose the freshest (and hopefully local) ingredients available and base breakfast on the fresh ingredients found.
Upon arrival guests are treated to a hug (if allowed), and either champagne and/or sparkling cider. Guests may opt to share high tea and/or a cocktail hour with us.
There is a wonderful bistro across the street from our inn, that is open for dinner. Guests can also walk to other restaurants (starting 6 blocks away), 2 universities, (2 - 4 blocks), the Amtrack Train Station, Lyric Opera House, and Meyerhoff Symphony Hall (5 - 6 blocks), Walter's Art Gallery (major art museum), Orioles Baseball and Ravens Football Stadiums (16 - 18 blocks), and Baltimore's main attraction -- the Inner Harbor (20 blocks). There are also 3 Light Rail Stations (3 - 5 blocks), and the Metro (3 blocks). The BWI Thurgood Marshall airport is 15 minutes away; and Interstate 83 leading to shopping malls and US highway 95N is 3 blocks away.
We also offer full concierge service and will gladly make dinner and other reservations for you.
Our inn is also available for weddings; receptions; rehearsal dinners; full day, luncheon and dinner business meetings; photo shots; parties; baby and bridal showers and pamper parties.
In order to secure a reservation, guests must pay for the first night's lodging, except during the holidays. Guests must pay their reservation in full for holiday reservations. There is no deadline for making reservations, however, guests cancelling them less than 7 days prior to the scheduled arrival date forfeit their deposit. Also, if guests depart early, they are liable for full payment, unless we are able to find replacements.
