The Night Heron is located 2.5 miles from National Seashore ocean beaches and 1.5 miles from Cape Cod Bay beaches and fresh water ponds. The Cottage is 2 miles from National Seashore. There are 10 public beaches in Eastham. Ocean surfing is only minutes away, as is deep sea fishing, Cape Cod Rail Trail biking, nature trail hiking, prime golfing and the Audubon Bird Sanctuary at Wellfleet Bay. Forty minutes down the road, in Provincetown, you can go aboard the greatest whale-watching fleet and explore a real pirates' treasure museum, all in the same day and on the same wharf!

We are environmentally friendly using energy efficent lighting and appliances. Each room has its own temperature control with separate heating zones and library quiet ac. All our appliances are water saving including our landscaping. We recycle all glass, plastics, and most paper products, and promote paperless communication. We refrain from using scented candles, carpet cleaners, fabric softeners, and potpouri. The cottage is totally pet free and no smoking in the house but allowed on the grounds. All guest rooms are pet free.
