My name is Rick Carkin. I am the wedding organizer at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Manchester NH, located at 669 Union Street.
With the NH laws in place as of January 2008 our gay brothers and sisters will now be able to have legal civil unions. If you or someone you know is looking for a special place to exchange vows, the UU Church of Manchester is just that place. Regardless of what anyone else might call the event, I will call it a wedding.
It doesn't matter what your faith path is, I will help you to create a ceremony that you will cherish over a lifetime, from creating your vows to music to decorating.
I have a long list of accomplished musicians, and the acoustics of our sanctuary are amazing. The NH Gay Men's Chorus (NHGMC) has called this church home for many years now, not only for the wonderful acoustics but for the totally welcoming atmosphere that the community at UUCM has given them. My partner of 16 years, Gary Finger, is the accompanist for NHGMC. He is also the primary accompanist for UUCM and an active member of the church. By the way, I'm a singing member of NHGMC as well.
THIS IS YOUR DAY!!! Whatever it is that you want to happen I can help make your dream a reality with very few limitations. Though I will be here to help you through this process, I do not necessarily have to be the JP actually doing your service. Some couples may prefer a woman; that being the case our Minister, Mary Wellemeyer, will be happy to help. You may already have a person in mind to deliver your vows for you: the choice of who will officiate is entirely yours.
As I have already said, whatever you envision for your day, I will do my very best to deliver to you affordably. I can even help you to find your hall or catering service for the reception. I have many contacts and have a huge list of resources at my disposal.
