The MLO weekend (October 24-26, 2008) is produced by the members of the Ottawa Knights, Ottawa's leather and denim club for gay men. The Knight's mandate includes preserving the leather culture in eastern Ontario and western Quebec and contributing to the local communities.
Throughout the year, the Knights raise funds for a variety of local groups including the AIDS Committee of Ottawa, Bruce House, and Jer's Vision. The annual Toys for Tots campaign collects toys and cash for under-privileged children and their families.
The Knights also host a leather or fetish theme night every month at their home bar Cell Block located at 340 Somerset St. East, Ottawa, Ontario.
Each year the MLO title-holder chooses a charity for which funds will be raised during the MLO weekend. Richard Hubley, Mr. Leather Ottawa 2008, has chosen the AIDS Committee of Ottawa to receive proceeds from MLO (R)EVOLUTION.
