I work with clients suffering from depression, anxiety or fears, stress, grief and loss (of any origin), trauma, relationship and life transition issues, and feeling alienated for whatever reason.
Many people find it difficult to deal with their problems all by themselves since one often finds themselves hearing the same thoughts in their head over and over again. Often these thoughts and messages have been there since we were very young and are not necessarily true. Nevertheless we believe them since we "acquired" them when we were very vulnerable and easily influenced by adults in our lives. Now as an adult you can examine your life and decide what is working for you and what's not thereby creating a more conscious and fulfilling life.
I believe that you will feel in my therapy room respect, a non-judgmental attitude, as well as positive-regard. Therapy is a gift to yourself and time you use to explore what is not working and how you want your life to be and concentrating on that. I also feel that using your strengths and building on that makes a huge difference.
My clients perceive me as warm, authentic, caring, and compassionate. I feel honored to be a part of your personal journey to healing and growth. I know that you have the necessary resources for change within you and my role as a therapist is to use my skills and expertise to create a safe and supportive environment for self-exploration and to assist you in the process of change. My therapy style is relational and eclectic (person-centered, psychodynamic, Cognitive-Behavioral). I am also in training to be an EMDR counselor (www.emdria.org). I provide both short and long-term counseling. I work with adult clients across the lifespan. I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with both my undergraduate and graduate degrees.
My full fee is $75 for a 45-50 minute session. However, I do offer sliding scale fee to clients who are committed to therapy but cannot afford my full fee at this time. Please call or email me to set up a free thirty-minute initial consultation to determine if we are a good therapeutic match. Thank you.
