I'm Claire Greenhill, a licensed psychotherapist in Seattle, Washington. My office is located in Fremont, about two blocks north of the Fremont Bridge. I work with clients who are dealing with a variety of issues, ranging from depression, anxiety and stress, to trauma and abuse recovery, to family and relationship problems. Many of my clients have never been in therapy before, while others start off with a more precise idea of how they want to use our time together. In either case, we'll agree on an approach that feels comfortable and that is based on the client's individual needs and preferences.
Methods used can range from short-term behavioral techniques aimed at developing effective coping skills that can be used right away, to a more gradual approach for clients who want more time to work through longer-term adjustment issues. While I always aim to provide therapy services that are tailored to each client's needs and personality, I often use a combination of psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral and strength-based approaches.
I also have a special interest in working with clients who are dealing with postpartum depression or adoption-related issues.
I am qualified as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (License # LH00010457) in the State of Washington, and I have a Master's Degree in Counseling and Human Development.
