Support group serving gay men in the Greater Rochester, NY area. The group mission is to facilitate discussion of what is a complete life as a gay man; social, personal, spiritual (as defined by each member), sexual, political and historical. This discussion will assist each member in defining for himself the scope of his life as a gay man. Each will bring his experiences, positive or negative, and voluntarily share with the group so each may benefit in his quest to find fulfillment. The Gay Life Support Group will assist men dealing with issues of coming out, breakups, loneliness, aging as a gay man; in short, events that impact on quality of life as it relates to living a gay life.
My name is Andy Fernandez and I have nearly 20 years of formal group facilitation experience in a professional capacity and many years in leading workshops. I have specific training in the Alternatives to Violence Program created by the Society of Friends (Quakers) in conjunction with inmates in the New York State Department of Corrections and widely used in major cities to deal with violence issues. The Gay Life Support Group is not meant for men needing relationship, personal or other types of therapy. It is a philosophical group using support group structure and readily available literature to achieve the group's purpose.
