Holiday shopping has never been better.  There’s Tangers Outlet Mall in Riverhead, antiquing from Quogue to Montauk and of course the wonderful shops in East Hampton – just steps away from the inn.  Polo Ralph Lauren has a spiffy new winter window; the diamonds are glistening in Tiffany’s display cases; Cole Haan has fine leather to protect you from the wind; Eileen Fisher has lovely holiday clothes for the ladies; and between Bookhampton & East End Books there are more great books than all your friends could read in the coming year.  If you are a procrastinator, wait ‘til you see the holiday sales…  You won’t be able to resist the impulse to purchase! 

Of course, with New Year’s Eve just around the corner, you have simply got to visit our wineries, darling, for a bit of the bubbly.  Did you know that Lenz’s sparkling Cuveé has been winning blind taste tests over some of France’s most prestigious Champagnes for years – and at a fraction of the cost.  We also love the Cuveé from Wölffer Estate right here on the South Fork, and from Pindar – if the good doctor is giving a champagne tour of the vineyard you hit the jackpot.  Speaking of New Year’s Eve, experience Gary’s breakfast on January 1st – late and leisurely. Absolutely fabulous! 

And – to make it even more enticing – there are no crowds in East Hampton in the winter.  You can shop at a leisurely pace without fear of losing that perfect gift to the ravenous hoards!  You can get a dinner reservation at Della Femina’s or Nick & Toni’s – even dinner at eight!  No road rage, no parking place pyrotechnics - just sparkling lights, caroling in the streets, Santa parades, holiday bazaars, music at Stephen’s Talkhouse, and maybe ice skating on Town Pond.  Maybe even snow…
